Another Fantastic Art Show

A long time ago I was very fortunate to visit Eva Armisén's art show. Eva Armisén creates whimsical pieces that reflect the exact feeling of happiness. In all of her lovely works, Eva Armisén brings a childlike beauty that also contains a mixture of elegance and fun. With her small incorporation of Spanish words, the viewer sees the european personality that everyone wants to emulate.

I managed to make it to the opening. Even though they were about to close, I got to see a couple of her pieces. The show was at the Seoul Auction House Horim Art Center. The gallery is in Sinsa so the whole area looks classy and nice. It was pretty much perfect for the show.

Sorry for the bad photo

Lovely

Eva Armisén has earned some fame because she was chosen to be the art designer for some of the Skin Food cosmetic line.

The Elephant is my favorite

I want one!

What I wore

After the art show I was a bit peckish so I bought some TTeokbokki snack chips. They're a bit strange but I like them. They has a sugary charge at first followed by a kick of spicy. You can get them from the 7-11 convenience store or the g-25 connivence store.

One serious barcode

It is pretty weird/good

I had a great experience. I loved it a lot.
 What picture did you like?

Not much has happened.... BUT SOMETHING WILL GOD DAMN IT!

So I think I've been having a blasé couple of weeks....

Nothing too exciting, but I am pretty pumped about the next couple of days. I figure I can easily list it here so I can,

a. remember

b. have something to write about

So this is what I plan on doing this weekend. I promise to take pictures so you guys can visually experience this with me!

  • Wednesday May 8th 2013
    • I plan on making tattoo tights with the girl I tutor. I know it isn't really "teaching" or "tutoring" but she is actually pretty smart. She basically only needs to bring her homework to class and study more. So I try to make tutoring fun so she would want to stay with me and so I can still get paid more.
    • I am going to make Yubu Chobab which is like a fried tofu skin with rice in the middle. I mean, as a "experienced cook", I plan on jazzing it up a bit to make it fantastic.
  • Thursday May 9th 2013
    • I am HOPEFULLY going to a art show at the Seoul Auction Horim Art Center!
  • Friday May 10th 2013
    • Adventure to get vegan pizza possibly?
  • Saturday May 11th 2013
    • VEGAN POTLUCK! There is a group in Seoul called the Seoul Veggie club and I have been wanting to join them on their monthly potlucks! I am so stoked to go to this one!
    • My co-worker/friend joined a orchestra and is having a performance that night! I am definitely going to that!
  • Sunday May 12th 2013
    • I have to blog everything I did!

So it seems like I have a busy couple of days!

What are you going to do?

A beautiful show at Dooin Gallery

Two weekends ago I was fortunate enough to make to to Rocky Schenck's art show at Dooin Gallery. Rocky is a famous music video director and photographer that captures the lost glamor essence of Classic Hollywood. With his haunting collection, Rocky illustrates an interesting combination of emptiness and yearning. Each picture demonstrates a want to connect, but a realization that everything is unique, everything is strange, and everything is curiously beautiful. He got some notoriety for the pictures of Kurt Cobain's daughter, Francis Bean Cobain, but overall, Rocky's work is truly one of the greats in our lifetime.

Here is a set of pictures of Rocky's show.

Big bold letters of the famous artist
Information about the artist. It might be good
it might be bad, I don't really know.
Yep still don't know what that means
yeah... no

The whole area was neatly placed together

There was a slide show in a strange little room

it really showed the history of Rocky's work

Rocky's work was advertised in five magazines!

Really fantastic

You should really go to Dooin and see Rocky's work!
